Shannon: "Don't I look grown up?!"
Shannon enjoys doing âPaint by numberâ. She missed #7, though. â And 13. And 4. âŠ.and also 15-99. â At this point, maybe sheâs going to just have to go get a spare face to put on. âŠ
This is a forecast of what she will look like when she becomes a teenager or young woman, and in the context of her situation and how she loves Brad (Bwad) and Toni like surrogate parents, how she may be raised by them to be that young woman. Marriage arc on the way, we are all waiting patiently (kind of -:).

Yes, Shannon. You donât look grown up.You look like a rather precocious six-year-old girl whoâs been playing with makeup for the first time. Let Aunt Toni show you how it should be doneâŠ.
I worked with a lady like that. She was attractive but put on makeup by the gallon. Some of her friends finally spoke to her, I guess and she toned it way back.
Have mercy on the dear lady. Iâm ten years younger, and only wear makeup about twice a year these days. After two cataract surgeries, when I take my glasses off to do makeup I canât SEE where itâs going! Doesnât help, either, that wrinkles and general droopiness have now put facial parts where they didnât use to be. May give it up altogether.
Only stuff of my momâs I tried was her foundation and her eyeshadow. I used to use her grey stuff to put âhollowsâ under my cheekbones. Her blue shadow I would put on my eyes.
Well, I know itâs not ME because I use only lipstick and light brow pencil 85% of the time. The âclownâ affect is just that the older you get. Cover up does NOT do it!!!
It would be great if there was just some simple explanation for Shannonâs frequent visits. But there isnât, so die-hard fans have decided her REAL dad is evil somehow. After all, heâs an actor, and those showbiz types are flakey just like Quillâ-er uh Tiffany, yeah, thatâs the ticket!
Oh, Shannon, youâre HILARIOUS! You DO look pretty grown-up all right; all of about FIVE YEARS OLD grown-up! The only thing missing is a LONG, HOT BATH! And besides which, I just KNOW your TRUE facial features are hidden SOMEWHERE in that mess! Listen, while youâre in the tub washing all that off, try some soap and elbow grease; see if you can find them for me, OK?
This is in todayâs strip because itâs just what Karen Evans did when she was a little girl. According to Greg, she would dress up in her motherâs clothes and jewelry, pretending to be grown-up. In fact, that was what led him to create this strip. But I never did that myself.
âShe is one of those who just doesnât need it. I like her just the way she is.â^I have one, like that, too!! Itâd be foolish to trade in a âmodelâ like that!
And now, back to the mysterious Mr. Gray. It must not have been anything shady or he wouldnât reveal himself to these people. Then again, he leftâŠwhy? Maybe he fell for a show girl and she rejected him. He could bond with Gunther over something like that.
âI often called her Tammy Fake Bakker! ;o)â^I remember when D.C. Follies had a âpuppet personnaâ of her, complete with permanent running mascara, and the voice expressions and movements to match such a countenanceâŠ.
And to add to the âdumping her off at halloweenâ, he didnât even try to stay for even just a few minutes with his daughter, but instead seemed to hurry to that party.
For those who have been unhappy about the lack of new characters, one returns (who has apparently been traveling, instead of attending class), and has a question for a long time character that really makes a reader wonder about compatibilityâŠ
I actually saw an adult woman once in the grocery store who looked just like this. All I could think was âhow can it be that nobody has ever told her the truth?â

Children are expected to grow up far to quickly. The most a child should ever need to worry about is âWhereâs my teddy bear???â

I really think these 2 will end up with legal custody of Shannon once they are married. And I think theyâll be OK with it.

We know almost zilch about Jonah. .Shannon must be with him or in his custody most of the time.
Has he a girlfriend, or maybe several?
