Coleman-Zachs Investment Bank The ride goes up and down, around and around. David Zachs - CEO It has thrills and chills, and it’s very brightly coloured, and it’s very loud, and it’s fun for a while. Using Lennon on that was a mistake. He was no visionary. He was a cheater, a child and wife abuser (both his first wife and Yoko), insanely jealous, he neglected Julian, and he had one heck of a lot less talent than McCartney as was proven by their careers post-Beatles. He played off as a man of the people but thoroughly enjoyed his monied status and the privilege that went along with it.
He was the least important of the Beatles and a thoroughly nasty man.

Somehow I don’t think this philosophy will go over big in N Korea, Iran, Russia…

That Lennon had less talent than the rest of the group is debatable. He had a flair for lyrics, at least, superior to the others. And, actually, beyond their early years would the Beatles have been as good without their producer, George Martin? And the studio musicians adding to their productions? They really didn’t last that long once they went out on their own..And aren’t musicians kind of socially strange, anyway? Go back and time at least to well-documented anecdotes about Handel and Bach, you will read that all through time the “great” musicians were to some extent sociopaths: composers, instrumentalists, and vocalists. (read THE VIRTUOSI, by Harold C. Schonberg)..No doubt many painters and writers, too, had great personal flaws. But we can still enjoy their output, as beauty transcendent of their personalities and actions.

What bothers me about stuff like this is that it doesn’t consider protecting ourselves from crazies. Being peaceful and helping others only sets us up for being taken advantage of. Most of the “bad guys” of history, like Hitler, Alexander the Great, whoever you want to name, weren’t normal people who responded to peaceful, helpful people.

I paid my way through college with my musical ability, and now in my senior years I’m a professional writer. The thing about creation is that it’s very isolating. Creators are very gregarious when they are not working, but to work at all the choice of isolation has to be made. This makes it difficult to form stable relationships with friends, family and lovers; hence the idea that creators are strange. But it’s the only way to permit the creation to come out of the shadows.

It’s not a game; it’s a war… our values against their values. And if Hicks really thought it was just a game, he wouldn’t have fought so hard to get folks to support his side in the battle.

Night-Gaunt49He opposed it, particularly the treatment of the untouchables. Why do you keep posting this?

Yes, nothing can ever change or get better because John Lennon was an asshole with big ideas. We shouldn’t help our fellow men (and women and children) because there are some crazy people. I like these comics because they are guides for how to live a better life. Some people are so invested in the game that they don’t want any of us to escape.

Wouldn’t work. Take all of that money out of the defense industries and militarys of all the major and not so major, powers and you would put untold numbers of people out of work. Unemployment would sky rocket. Certainly you’ve heard of the military-industrial complex. It’s real.

Jimarod- thats what I tell poeple that want the US to recall all our troops. Other countries rely on our military bases for income from leasing the land to the troops going off base for groceries.
