Technically (and originally), “politically correct” meant saying whatever is politically expedient – whatever will get you elected. Most cartoonists seem to think it means clamping down on the ability to speak your mind. Most commonly, however, it is understood to mean we don’t make fun of people for their race, gender, culture, physical attributes, intelligence, mental health, or sexual identity. That’s what really gets people mad – we like putting people down.
I’m an old Lefty from way back and I find the PC movement very bothersome. Let people say what they want. That way it’s easier to know where a person stands. Also, ethnic humor was once a way to learn the differences between various cultures.
Bravo, Carl. I am a conservative (or, in PC speech, “an extremist”) who appreciates/respects “liberals” (such as Hubert Humphrey or George McGovern) and detests “leftists” (such as 4 of the 5 current candidates for the democrat nomination.) Leftists push the PC agenda, and are intolerant of disagreement.

Political Correctness is a manipulative tool employed by the left for centralizing power!! Political Correctness is the antithesis/reciprocal of reality Those employing Political Correctness are COWARDS afraid to face reality!!!

To find a politician, look at a weather vane. It always points to the biggest source of wind.

The PC agenda of not making fun of those weaker than ourselves is an intolerable barrier to our ability to make fun of those weaker than ourselves.
