Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
My daughter has 3 sons and a husband that are not acquainted with things like putting the top on the milk, putting it BACK in the fridge and closing said fridge. All of them are mostly grown (the boys that is) and she is like a keeper to all of them. As for putting the bread away, after she left it just like they left it and it dried out and they had no toast or sandwiches a few times, they close the bread up now. A few years ago she went on strike for a week and after it was over they got better for a while but are back to the same ole thing now.
Hubby used to bring in the newspaper and leave the bag wherever he was. After collecting them from the counter op, the back of the chair, the cutting board, I finally decided to leave them where they fell. After a week, I asked him when he was going to collect the bags. “Huh? Where did they come from?” Totally oblivious. He has shoved a box of crackers aside so he could slice cheese – and then told me he couldn’t find the crackers!He’s still a keeper, though. He puts up with ME.
I remember having to do the “Rid” bit. I was always fascinated with the fine toothed combs that came with the stuff.I was such a strange little boy……and no, I haven’t gotten much better either.
I always quietly reorganize the dishwasher before I run a load and I never make any comment about the subject. Some things just aren’t worth the potential stress.
When I am putting away the dishes (we both share this) I occasionally ask where she stores a particular sauce pan or other cooking device. Although as I’m putting the item where she tells me, I am thinking to myself, I would never store it there. Again, some things just aren’t worth the potential stress.
My wife is an excellent cook, and although messy, does most of the cooking at home. When we were building our last home, I asked the contractor if they could install a floor drain in the middle of the kitchen floor, and maybe even equip it with a garbage disposer so kitchen cleanup after meal preparation would be mush easier.
I didn’t hear a word from my wife so I suggested we could live without the feature. As I said before, some things just aren’t worth the potential stress…

And where does she want the bread if they don’t have a bread box? In the fridge?

That’s just common courtesy and food handling not nit picking. Someone yank his shorts up around his ears

Just leave things in the same condition you found them in. If the milk had a lid when you found it then leave it the same way.
I’m talking to you, sweetheart.
My wife never reads the comics so I feel safe putting that last comment here.

The secret to a long marriage is to never load the dishwasher together.

If you would do what you’re supposed to do without being asked, then she wouldn’t have to nag!

@Tony“Are you a nit picker?”
Not usually. A long and successful marriage requires some degree of control…
