I essentially don’t trust people who think one’s love of country depends on parading symbols around. I don’t care what you wear, I care how you treat your fellow citizens.
I’m sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we’re Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration.-Hillary Clinton
To the common U.S. citizen, the long-term difference between living under a purely Democratic administration and living under a purely Republican administration would be like the difference between living under Stalin or Hitler.
Note that it is the “difference” that is similar; I am not comparing either party to Stalin or Hitler, per se.
I can remember when such a “patriotic denim vest” — or any use of flags on articles of clothing — would have gotten one arrested for “disrespecting the flag”.

Because it’s ugly and doesn’t go with anything I wear in public!!

It’d be better if he had it stitched on a motorcycle jacket.

Your denim vest is a violation of the U.S. Flag Code. [Title 4 U.S. Code § 8 – Respect for flag]

You don’t need to display a flag to prove that you’re patriotic.

This is a COMIC STRIP, not a political treatise. And it’s hilarious.
