Mr. Newman sure doesn’t seem cooperative, but I suppose maybe he’s off the hook so far. I expect that the questioning of Newman will end here and something will happen tomorrow, not that it’s out of the way.
I think Mr. Newman is not telling the truth. He is probably a principal on these cases. The first incident came up during a time when he is looking for a financier. This time it happened when the film, I believe, is wrapping up. He needed some publicity in both cases and he seems not to mind the kind of pulicity he gets.
Lloyd Newman is antsy and verging on belligerent with Tracy. Not smart, and suggestive of something being hidden. Tracy will ferret it out, or Newman will live (or die) to regret his stonewalling….
I can understand Newman’s not mentioning Orlock’s death if it was ruled a suicide and there were no threats made before then. It is possible the two deaths aren’t related, and he may well believe that, and not be trying to conceal anything. Tracy knows any information may prove to be important, but Newman doesn’t.

Thanks for your comments to my post on George Takei’s response to that Roanoke mayor. Growing up as a Japanese Canadian, internment was a sensitive topic that took some time to learn about.
Tomas Texino: I don’t comment here often, but as you can tell, the board is full of friendly intelligent participants with a fair sense of justice which fits for a strip like this. I hope you can feel free and welcome to contribute to the conversation, even when the odd controversial topic comes along!
Hmmmm, i am certain Tracy’s BS detection system is starting to kick in…Newman’s attitude is not helping him. Bluff, bluster and bravado might get you by in Hollyweird, but not in Tracytown!
And got the results back….not what was hoped for. Cancer has returned to the colon and liver, so ‘cure’ is by the boards….now the goal is life extension and quality…

Your welcome, William. I’ve heard that so many times and thank you for your service.

Thank you Kantuck for supporting us veterans. I am grateful none of my friends names are carved in granite, but I am still proud of my service, it took me places I probably will travel to again & made friends that are closer to me than my own family.
@John K, I’m sorry to hear about your prognosis, I know what it feels like to get bad news like that. I had a cancer diagnosis 12 years ago but it was early so my treatments worked and it was cured. Still have some effects from it and health problems but I keep trudging along. Hope they can do something for it and prevent pain so to keep you going as long as possible.
As someone who has actually died a few times, my wish for you is to FOCUS on the POSITIVES. Like the Good YOU’VE done for others, and what little MORE you can still able *do !

Thinking back to yesterday’s strip …
Both Orlock and Byrd have a at least a vague resemblance to Tracy, but Orlock and Byrd don’t resemble each other at all.
This is a phenomenon one occasionally notices among soap opera recasts.

Hmmmm…..why do I think Newman’s lying and it’s gonna be found out REAL quick by Tracy’s crack crew of detectives?
AnyFace almost 9 years ago
Still picking up a definite “Phantom of The Paradise” vibe here.
Is there any possibility that reports of Orlock’s demise might be greatly exaggerated …?
