That doesn’t look like a pot. It looks like a bucket. What kind of meal is made in a bucket, I wonder?

It’’s a pot I recognize well having grown up around restaurants and cleaning ‘em even younger than Danae. And it isn’t even a BIG one!

My wife’s favorite cooking container is a enamel-coated, porcelain-lined, cast iron crock pot. Good grief! The lid alone’s gotta weigh 5 pounds! Flipping that tub around in the sink is not conducive to joint health.

My wife’s favorite cooking utensil is me. No wonder I stay potted all the time.

I love cooking with cast iron; it’s good for building upper body strength and lower back muscles (especially when you store them at the back of the closet).

How much do you want to bet that Kate is off somewhere reading a book, probably something by Carl Hiaasen, Hey, Danae, what was the last book you’ve read..?…..I bet she’s read Twilight……………………….BTW, buckets usually have swing handles that go from side to side. That looks like a restaurant style pot to me….Not sure what they had to eat, but there was a lot of it…..

I was forced into servitude once I was tall enough to reach the sink. But yeah, the pots and pans were always the worst. Yuck.

A lobster cooking pot….or one nice big chili cooking pot, with meals to last a week! Or a pasta pot!

    Two words Dad: Automatic Dishwasher.

Lots of stew, chili, and other stuff that might leave a slimy mess can be made in a pot like that.

When I was a kid our neighbors consisted of a large family, about 15 total I think.A large cook pot took up two burners on the stove. One day she was in Dawson & Stewart General Merchandise, and spied a row of well, thunder mugs, uh…chamber mugs….all tall white enameled, pristine in their unused glory. She bought two. Stove top problem solved. I have eaten many a meal cooked in a pee pot.

Washing a messy pot is a lot easier if you let it soak in soapy water first. Always look for the easier way.

A colleague used to cook up road kill in a stock pot like that. Used to make some interesting stews with some of the gamier specimens. (Fortunately he was only interested in the bones for the osteology collection.)
