I don’t follow NHL that much, but who won the 2014 Cup?

I agree, I have several interests but most people don’t share them. I find it difficult to find things to talk about.

I wish people on Facebook would talk about the Stanley Cup instead of religion and politics!

I did an informal bar survey concerning men’s conversations with other men. The results were surprising to many females.

While you would think that guy’s talk about nothing but sex, women, sports, and politics, actually, the number one topic of conversation was ….wait for it…food !

    Don’t believe me ?

Listen to guys talking in a bar, or at a social gathering, or at the gym, The subject of food comes up more often than anything else.

Lynn’s Notes:This idea was given to me by a male friend. It was his observation that women’s conversations were much more serious and meaningful than men’s. What do you think? Was he right?

What is coming more popular on fb is different recipe’s. I turn off on any sports top one is football. Not talking of sports as football.

Why would that guy think that women have nothing better to discuss than men? Egocentric or just generally delusional?

comicsssfanSome terms last longer than they should. Bands (the ones that play music) still have girl singers. And yes, Sinatra was a boy singer with Dorsey.

Wrong. In the NHL as it is known today, Canadian teams have won the Cup 43 times. U.S. based teams have won the Cup 48 times. It took a run of 22 straight Cup wins by U.S. based teams for this to be the case (the way things are looking now, that streak may very well go to 23 this season). A Canadian based team hasn’t won the Cup since 1993 when the Montreal Canadiens won their record 24th Cup. Second on the list are the Toronto Maple Leafs with 13, last winning in 1967. The U.S. based team with the most Cup wins is the Detroit Red Wings with 11. The Red Wings last won the Cup in 2009. Second on that list are the Boston Bruins with 6. They last won the Cup in 2011.

Did anyone see the film “Miracle”? Was it the Canadians or Americans who confronted the “indestructible” USSR in hockey?

At first, it’s like, ha-ha as if sports are relevant. But it’s even worse than that. Talking about who’ll win the Stanley Cup means that they are talking about men! They are literally about to criticize, compare, analyze, and argue about men. And worse, these are men that honestly have little to no real influence on their lives. The women talking about their husbands are talking about people with whom they have relationships. Good job, Lynn Johnson.

The film didn’t show them winning the gold medal in that game — it also showed then end of the game against Finland. Watch it again.
