Santa needs to use magic to get down a chimney. …….Unfortunately some idiots have died trying to break into somewhere via the chimney not realizing it is never a straight drop plus the damper could be closed.
Poor Oliver!!!!!! The SPCA could be the end of our Annie and the warehouse story… As a child I knew Santa couldn’t fit in our chimney so I unlocked all the living and dining room windows when my parents weren’t looking.
In a slightly frantic mode this morning as we are having a big party for Paul’s birthday later today. Thankfully, his brother offered his house, as there is NO WAY I could fit 15 – 20 people into our apartment! So, I am deviling eggs right now. I made a pan of shortbread last night to bring and it’s almost half gone. My hubby is a cookie monster!!!!
My best memories of Christmas as a child were of the cats running wild through the wrapping paper on the floor. I don’t remember any of the gifts but I remember the entire living room floor covered in ripped off wrapping paper and ribbon and our 3 cats running at full speed underneath. All we could see was paper flying straight up and ribbons disappearing from sight.
A old, abandoned warehouse chimney — could be lots of secrets in there. miscreant1 – what a great memory. Cats definitely make life better. Last Rose – super great pictures today. Cats in sweaters are so expressive. Love the one in the chimney
I have to agree with Gweedo,,pewter is more expensive than lead, and it wasn’t pure lead, but mixed with something else to make is “dangly” so it would hang nicely on the tree branches. I can’t remember now what my co-worker told me many years ago, but he was a chemist, and would have known, I’m guessing.
You have out done yourself with your picture postings the last couple of days. They are excellent and enjoyable. Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into posting them for the pleasure we all get out of them,
Just to let y’all know I’m still here, but not much time to leave comments. Since my hip has pretty much healed as well as i’ts going to,I have been busier than a one armed wall-paper hanger! Been working for a Pipeline Contractor in town, maintaining their equipment. AND in my SPARE time, (ha, ha..) still working on cars at home! I missed not being able to have the time to “chat” with the T.C family, as I’m usually in bed by 7pm during the week…But, when I get up in the morning, I have enough coffee in me to resemble this:
It’s now eight and a half hours past time for the new Monday strip. 16:36 on Monday afternoon here in Kwa-Zulu Natal. I’m missing my kitties and will have to log in tomorrow morning in the hopes of finding an update.
I’m guessing maybe Graham lost power in the wind storm last night, mine flickered off/on a few times but fortunately stayed on. And it’s supposed to gust even worse later today
Don’t forget, folks! The Gilligan’s Island theme can be sung to the tune of Stairway To Heaven, and likely you can find it by looking up Dr. Demento and Stairway To Gilligan’s Island.
Well, it’s 6:22 EST, and still no new comic.poor Graham must be without power for a long time…i hope he’s OK. I love how all my friends are still commenting and posting such nice pics. Thanks, guys—-you make me smile!
Thank you for the laughter you have brought to me. This has been a horrid week already for me. Keep me in your prayers if you have the time. I know the light at the end of the tunnel is out there somewhere.
I have been assuming that strips are submitted a few weeks in advance and that it’s a mix up with the web site rather than the cartoonist when strips aren’t published on time. Anyone know how it works at gocomics?
No, I’m just guessing based on other reports of power outages. I DO hope that it’s the problem…otherwise, it could be Graham’s health, and I hope he * is* well!Medical emergencies can strike anyone at anytime…I know, I’ve had heart attacks. You’re fine, and suddenly, you are NOT fine.
I was merely hoping that it was something repairable (power-wise) than a sudden illness.Be well, Graham, and you too, Eldo

We leave the wrapping paper on the floor for the cats to play in at least until after New Year’s, we just have to be careful to step around it.
