Now, to the people that thought the party’s gravity had changed once they’d gotten to the room – you were premature. And what have your partners told you about that?

Some people don’t appreciate the gravity of the situation when bacon is involved.

Somehow I thought the ship leveled off already. Either way…find out who the bacon came from before you eat it, guys.

The ship is still bow down.Gravity adjusted internally to level them off so they walk on the deck normally like the glasses sat on the floor but stayed in place. As far as bacon….that would be a Kirbee memory from being human. For Chic its a bit more sinister…..Unity was kept going not only by eating eggs but eating others. Our author never went further into that part of Unity. There was no waste on anything they took and if you were a food type mutant like a pig……your fate was sealed.

So I just sort of realized something. Chic was never human, right? He has no memories of the world before, and has only ever known lizard people. Presumably they’d told him how things got to where they are and to beware Topsiders, but being a chicken wouldn’t be weird to him.

“Bacon and gravity… Life is good.” – one of Kirbee’s rasher statements.

I think Chick’s familiarity with bacon may be less sinister. His father was the leader of Unity and if there were any bacon salvaged from the End, his family could get it. Chick was able to hide Twinkies, so he could have filched some bacon, too. Alternatively, they might have had bacon-scented candles around.

The ship has an artificial gravity generator?

… you know, artificial gravity is a prerequisite to creating a warp bubble, which would allow for faster-than-light space travel.

MelkiorNot exactly. You’re forgetting that Linda was the main character in the cake issue.1. The old man kept coming to the cafe at night when Linda and Meg was working the night shift. 2. It was Linda who obtained the milk (from Maude) and the eggs to make the cake. The old man never tasted the cake and died happy.3. Maude and Linda were arrested first, just as they were going to try the cake because a moralistic blowhard wanted to have a show trial to argue about the morals of consuming food products produced by mutants (eggs, milk ect…) Holly got dragged into this when the rats learned that she had used Maude’s milk to create cheese.4. We don’t know what happened while they were imprisoned, but the conditions were brutal (no lights out, no toilet and maybe no food or water. Holly seemed to suffer from it more than the other two and was hardly able to say anything during the trial. After the trial, Holly tried to commit suicide. At this point she told Wally, “I lost the baby.” 5. Neither Linda or Maude said anything about a miscarriage and Doc Chase didn’t know what “I lost the baby” meant so I’m guessing this incident happened in the past possibly after Holly and Lynn were abducted.
