Rat: You know that cute family portrait some people take nowadays where each of them dresses up in matching clothes?
Goat: Yeah, why?
Rat: It makes me sick.
Goat: I hate when I agree with you.
Rat: Congress, do something!
Rat is absolutely right. Family portraits should show the members dressed as themselves, displaying their individual personalities; forcing them all to dress alike is inhuman and unforgivable.:Venting done. Happy New Year, human individuals!
,,,& it’s even worse when they did the same with their and/or their pets. Nothing like a chihuahua & a persion wearing the same plaid outfits as their grinning humans.
Define matching. If by matching you mean same or complimentary color clothing to the others in the photo but each wearing a different outfit, you may need to look elsewhere if you’re expecting my vote. But if you mean everyone wearing virtually identical or exactly identical outfits which so often result in my mocking them as the dorks they are, would it be wrong to sign the petition twenty times using twenty different names? Ok, I do at times feel sorry for kids who appear as if their folks forced them to dress in virtually identical to exactly identical outfits as themselves, at least when the kids look miserable that is.
Frankly, I don’t give a damn about other people’s family photos. I’m too busy living my own life with my family to care. I think people who obsess about what other people need a hobby or medication or both.
@LogicalDuck, No, that’s not what Goat would object to. Two people in gender neutral sweaters isn’t that bad; besides it isn’t a “portrait”. You can tell by the surprised expression on the dudes face. But basically I agree with DOSQueen.
Coincidentally, I just lately saw over on that social networking site a photo of a family of friends wearing matching colorful outfits while visiting a very foreign country—and I “liked” it! Yet here I find myself agreeing with Rat (and Goat). Isn’t life paradoxical?
never ask Congress to “do something” because they’ll invariably do something to make things worse.for example, in this case they’d pass a 400 page bill that not only forbids family fotos with matching outfits, but also grants new tax credits to companies that make film for non-digital cameras, new tax loopholes to companies that make digital cameras, and, just to be fair, subsidies to companies that make solar-powered tanning booths.and, of course, only lawyers will understand the bill, and they’ll know the intricacies that allow families to take forbidden fotos with matching outfits so long as they include pets, the mom is smiling, there are no Soviet flags in view, and it’s Thursday.at the end of the day, everybody except the lawyers will be a little bit poorer.
The less congress does the better, we don’t need no body of governing people thinking up new laws year round for us. Don’t we already have so many laws in place that nobody could possibly follow them all?
some of us get forced into these things it’s not always our fault. it wasn’t my idea for a family picture where we all looked like the waitstaff in a middle class restaurant. sometimes it’s not worth being a rebel
@saywhatwhat:That was a still from a British TV comedy called “Ever Decreasing Circles”. One of the running gags was that these two characters Howard and Hilda often dressed in nearly identical outfits. It just seemed to fit in with Rat’s theme and extend it in a comical way. I guess the joke would make most sense to those familiar with the show. Happy new year.

I can take the matching outfits. It’s when they are all barefoot that I can’t stand.
