Maybe it was a two panel with the car warning coming in the first. I don’t remember.
Giving credit where it’s due, McCoy’s cartoon adds to Larson’s original by virtue of the caption.
Cartoonists have been borrowing/elaborating on other cartoonists’ gags (with or without attribution) for as long as cartoons have been in existence. Larson’s cows appeared about 25 years ago or so, and the statute of limitations has long since expired. Larson himself was probably not the first to do a “Someone’s coming!” cartoon, he just did the most famous one.
