Well with all the employees, it would be easy for the Apparatus, the Blackhearts, the Girl Scouts, anybody, to infiltrate the place.(What? You don’t remember the Great Cookie Heist of ’92? Back when Diet Smith was trying to crack the recipe for Samoas?)
Sorry about that. It takes a while before the site updates with new products on the store page. I was thinking that the update time only referred to search results. When I was logged in as the store I was able to see the new ones there.
So, there are two pairs of glasses missing? I’m not quite following how that works.
I’m thinking that Specs was already in the Apparatus when he came upon the glasses. Now he’s special because the glasses only work on him, supposedly, but Diet said yesterday that they were designed to see through objects when adjusted properly. I wonder if the Apparatus will discover this adjustment capability and then they won’t need Specs to do that work for them.
It’s possible to change the colors of the underlying shirt, though the large “VB” logo on the back seems to have a big white rectangle behind it.Maybe I’m just doing it wrong …?
There should be a checkbox under advanced options where you can make the white disappear. Sorry I was kind of too late for the sale. There will probably be another sale, though maybe not quite as good, in 4 to 5 weeks, if you’re that patient.
Too bad, as I like the “81 years of excellence" one the best.____________________
What I think we need is one with just the “Vista Bill” logo on the front, then on the back the three pictures with the “81 Years of Excellence” text below them.
Need all those elements within a single template to wrangle that.
Those Diet Smith hands (panel 2) - are ‘impeccably’ well sized today !Envisage many a “nod of delight” on this return to pristine, “Harvey Award” quality - appendages . . . one even expacts an appreciative smile on Neil’s face . . .(Heck ! No ‘grease’ needed for today’s bullet)
Happily gone, was yesterday’s tilt to ‘Locherization’ !
/But Now _back_* to the storyline . . .As Diet notes in panel 3 the X-Ray facility was meant for Police use . . .
And unless they’ve “forgotten” it’s “existence” (?) Lack of use (?)By Golly, Miss Molly . . . it’s ‘Old Hat’ !!It’s been ‘There’, and Available on Police Wrists these past Seventeen Years A feature on* their Wrist Geenees (now called the Wrist Wizards) for 17 long years (?) … ever since May of 1997 . . .
Again – REMINDER STRIPS . . .
Where we’re seeing Roxie back then (1997) - with the (stolen) Geenee, playing with it’s Adjustment Button, a switch to get ‘varied’ Views and layers of Visual Depth . . .
She saw Underwear, on to Skeleton, then even deeper to Heart and Lungs !
Or, I’d imagine, to any other ‘fanciful’ area - that might come to mind !
As Dead as a DODO ?
Their Faces have been in the dark (near muted reactions)What’s still not CLEAR - is if Sam and Tracy are AWARE the feature IS on their Wrist Wizards (?)
Fabulous art. The third panel is exceptional, with big Gouldian snowflakes as the icing on the cake. Why would the Apparatus go after Bea Thorndike’s safe when they just made off with $4 billion from the Homeland Security Bank? Did Specs do a little moonlighting?
We all missed the sale and I am disappointed at the extremely limited options for the pocket Tee.
Sorry about missing the sale — I tried to make it, but all the factors seemed to be working against me. I’m going to explore what more might be done with the pocket tee.
The price is the same, PayPal or not. PayPal policy prohibits vendors from charging a different price for PayPal customers.
I’m going to play around with some more options and I’m going to try to set up some discussion area elsewhere because it’s getting a little off-topic here. Chances are good that the next sale will be a 4-hour deal with very little warning. I know most of you would prefer to get the discount if you could, so we need to be ready. If it means waiting for a month, I think that’s okay, because you’re going to have the shirt for more than a month. You want to get it right.
OK, Neil. I ordered the “with everything” shirt using the 15% off discount code (KICKOFFZYEAR). In my dream last night, I dreamed that I purchased the shirt and you offered me a second shirt as a free “thank you” gift for the use of my images.
I figure there are two glasses missing because the mole swapped the x-ray prototype with a pair of glasses that was one of the actual ones that Specs was supposed to test. So the mole had (and hid away or disposed) of the test glasses and Specs has the x-ray glasses, for a total of 2 missing.
Gweedo responded,Bill, I’m slobbering and drooling with delight !-———————————————————————.We’ll be the talk of the graveyard, Gweedo! Two of the coolest gals in the cemetery!
Gweedo muttered to AnyFace,I couldn’t see how to rejigger the design, but then I’m still unsophisticated in the ways of computerology.-———————————————————————.You’ve been zombified, Gweedo. Elvira will dezombify you tonight.
Underneath the “Size” and “Quantity” drop-downs, there is a button or link called “Customize it.” With that you can deleted certain things, move them around, add text, etc.
Breaking news: I just got a message: “It’s back! Custom t-shirts 50% off ends tonight! Use code: NEWTSHIRTS4U” This is good until midnight PST tonight only (3 am Eastern). Sorry to those who already got a different discount. These specials are rather unpredictable.
If anyone needs help designing a shirt to their specifications, I will help.
A few things I figured out playing with the design tool …
1.) As Neil said, you can delete elements, or move them from front-to-back. You can also resize, and add text in different fonts – and different colors!
2.) If you pull up “Art View” and turn on the grid, it helps in positioning the different elements. For those who might prefer a cleaner front-and-back design, you might want just the logo on the front, with the smaller pictures of Bill and text on the back.
3.) Under the “Arrange” menu, there’s an option to center elements both vertically and horizontally. You might want to “Center Horizontally” whenever possible.
4.) When in “Art View,” use the “Boundaries” button to make certain images & text will fit.
5.) Further down the page are controls which allow you to select different colors and different shirt/hoodie styles – Some allow for images on the back, and some don’t. “Ringer” Tees have a limited color palette, and don’t seem to support printing on the back of the shirts.
The design I threw together contains seven different elements, three of those being individual lines of text.
Play around with the tools, and don’t get discouraged. You can’t “break” anything. :)
Black smiths – ironSilver smiths – silverBlue smiths – steel?
I got curious about this and I found out that there are blacksmiths (who work with metals that have to be heated to be worked with) and whitesmiths (who work with tin, sometimes pewter, and even gold). The “white” metals can be hammered out without any heating.
AnyFace inquired,Which font catches your fancy, Bill?——————————————————————————.Any sans serif/gothic font. With my logotype, I frequently use Serpentine (but it would be too wide here), Eurostile or Bank Gothic would be a practical substitute.
My Uncle Denny once told me that to get maximum life out of silk screened garments is to turn them inside out when putting them in for laundry. Facing out as they would normally do exposes them to more wear from rubbing against all the other stuff in the load.____________________
Haven’t had much experience with Zazzle, they might use transfer sheets, or inkjet printers which print directly on the cloth, rather than silk screening. More economical for short batches.
Neither process excels on dark shirts, by the way.
My Uncle Denny once told me that to get maximum life out of silk screened garments is to turn them inside out when putting them in for laundry.I always do that on printed garments, and sometimes even on non-printed ones. Also, I try not to wash them with really heavy material like denim because that can be a little rough on a printed design when it rubs against it.
Or the tech is great but was there just for a story and then forgotten.I expect that’s what happened to the X-ray capabilities of the Wrist Geenee. It was needed for that story and then everyone forgot that it was there and Diet Smith had to invent it all over again. (But maybe the glasses work a bit differently.)
Here is what I take from your discussion: http://www.zazzle.com/vista_bill_81_years_everything_shirts-235997811621053242
You can still make adjustments if you want. Delete the logo from the back if you want. If you need to move elements around, the arrow buttons often work best (the grey “plus” shape under the “add image” button. I left the “Vista Bill” text in the same font that was there before. It’s similar to Bill’s embroidered shirt text font, I think. I made the pictures a bit smaller because it looks more balanced to me like that. Too many items all roughly the same size compete too much with each other for attention. I also made the logo on the back a bit smaller, but you may not want it at all. That’s up to you.
That gave me a baby bodysuit and I’m pretty sure Gweedo is a little old for that, but I did put a new link up myself.
If anyone else wants a shirt tonight before midnight Pacific/3 am Eastern, the code NEWTSHIRTS4U is still good for 50% off, and you can use any of the 4 links that I put up today and hit customize if you want.
I’m not able to get the new strip up and it’s way past my bedtime, so I’ll comment on it when I wake up.
My opinion: Neil Wick did a good job designing the shirts. Any manipulation of his designs is “bad news”. It only disturbs the balance of his use of the elements..Before I ordered, I was tempted to include a 4th photo of myself but realized that it would only disrupt the appearance..I’m pleased with the shirt I ordered, the “everything” shirt.
