If you can’t afford the $100,000 speaking fee, I guess first-class airfare for two is our of the questions,

Let Sarah make her money while she can. Few other comedians make that kind of cash. I just feel sorry for those who don’t realize it’s only entertainment. But seriously folk, don’t be scared by Barbie. Does she or doesn’t she? Only her banker knows for sure.

Ya thunk if da lefties stopped cryin she last?

Becca are you referring to the community chest card that said:

“win $10 for first place in a beauty contest?”

anyway, credit given– great hair , dazzling smile, good figure but unfortunately , no brain…..

oh well, you can’t have everything– where would you put it all?

SuperGriz: Is there nothing or no one you hate? Maybe even me?

Is it possible you are the product of the political correctness running the public schools today where a child is not allowed to tell the “How do you eat an elephant?” joke because it involves violence? Where a kid can’t say he hates broccoli? (School teachers have confirmed these and many other examples to me.) We can’t hate Neo-Nazis, Taliban, or child-molesters? I’d call that moral cowardice.

As for Palin, I’ve already told my reasons at other times on gocomics. Of course, you have your right to your opinion, though it sounds like you might not accord the same right to me.

    Re: Hate in Doonesbury

The real hatred in this comic series has been the murderous intent the doll showed last week when she tried to kill her “tyrannical” mistress Sam. Only Neolib would argue that Trudeau, the doll’s creator, harbors no hatred of his own for SP. Neolib might say that the cartoonist “sublimates” his hatred for the purpose of cartoon satire, but sublimation or entertainment don’t explain why Trudeau would spend two entire weeks making SP hateful.

As for Sam’s “tyranny,” don’t we see it today in her condescending concern for the doll? It’s very Neolib (and neoChristian) to crush your enemy by turning the other cheek. Neolib may find Christian forgiveness embarrassing but she can’t live with hatred on her conscience, especially political hatred. Maybe that’s Trudeau’s problem, too.

Billdog’s literacy is only slightly above the level of his understanding, which is too weak to see the difference between SP in Wasilla and the doll in Doonesbury. They’re analogous, not identical (see Coyoty’s clever comment).

Trudeau understands that distinction, but he seems not to have anticipated that readers like billdog might grow confused about the object of their hatred. After ten days of running exposure to the strips, they can no longer separate their hatred of SP from hatred of her stereotype the doll. Someone called her a golum. For Neolib desperate to make these cartoons into more than analogies, the doll might as well be a swastika.

Yeah, Becca. There was a time when the Monopoly $5s were used for trade of a similar sort in the central part of I Corps in Vietnam during the mddle to late ’60s.

Come to think of it, with inflation $5 in Monopoly money is probably close to $100K now…

The services being rendered are certainly similar.

I don’t hate Sarah and I’m not afraid of her.

What scares the beejeebers out of me are the huge numbers of people who love her and believe her lies and and her crazy, stupid dangerous ideas.

I do hate the sick lies and the murderous ideas.

Several beejeebers have requested strenuously that I not use their name in such a frivolous and inaccurate way.

Draft-dodger Limbaugh make 23 million a year, Glenn Beck just a few cents less, and right-wing dings complain about Trudeau’s big income. What you war-loving (but not fighting) jerks don’t get is that, in order to speak his truth, Trudeau had to sacrifice a huge portion of income because conservative media boycott his work. First Amendment? Don’t be silly. The only peope able to enjoy his brilliance are those who think for ourselves. I love it that you cretins hate Garry. Good going. Spread that hatred around. Wear it in your hair. Blab it in you ineffectual “comments.” You’re toast anyway. Heh-heh.

The most unlikely posters on this site are liable to adopt Neolib’s style of argument. Look at this slightly modified version of the preceding comment:

MIKE Limbaugh is a DJ. Understand ? A disk jockey. Does a disk jockey scare you? Like wise,Glen Beck makes his money in entertainment. Look it up in the dictionary, it’s more reliable than Wilipedia.. You say the only people who enjoy the brilliance of GT are people who think for themselves. Do you mean think like he? If not we are “cretins” Sorry, I didn’t realize that the First Amendment was limited to liberals and did not apply to conservatives. Why’d I fight for it? Why’d I give four years? So I could hear some bleeding heart say my right to free speech should be ended? If you think for yourself and are not a herd follower, what do you think of SP being pro-war/antiabortion? Would you switch them and kill babies like GT portrays SP? That’s the liberal stance.

Remember high school where the popular kids made fun of everyone not as socially adroit; the jocks picked on the non-athletes; and the intellectuals looked down on those who wouldn’t go on to college? We’re all out in the world now and we haven’t left high school. We’re trying to run the world as if it were high school. We know what we think, but not how to determine if we’re right or not so we must slam the other kids to protect our egos.

Uh, Clinton didn’t make all that $ until after he left office… The last prez who didn’t profit from the office after his term was over was Truman, who went back to Independence, Mo. with little more than the lint in his pockets.
