Why fit in when you were born to stand out? -Dr. Seuss. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! Now go out and do that thing that makes no one alive you-er than you!
@ladywatcher I agree. Some of the Seuss books were good, but not all of them. As far as the quote goes… if standing out means people look at you as an incompetent fool who just likes being a contrarian, maybe you try harder to fit in. A well-oiled machine doesn’t have many parts that “stand out.”
Aww, this is so sweet! I would expect a boy like Lio to do these kinds of homage to people like Stephen King given his taste, but it’s nice to see him appreciate people that focus on children.
An absolutely entertaining, subtle and reassuring Dr. Seuss book appropriate on this day: Happy Birthday to You. "“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” "
I came across a very rare book by him that told the story of the seven Godiva sisters and the seven peepings (Tom. Dick, Harry, Larry…). It was definitely NOT for children.

If Theo Geisel were still alive, he’d be 112.

I suspect some day in the future, folks will look back at all the vilification of Middle Eastern peoples and find it positively shocking!
At least we can hope…

Loved the imaginative artwork as much as the stories. Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
