Our daughter used to take her raincoat off a block from our house and âlostâ her umbrella promptly after I bought it for her. Seems these items were not âcoolâ Grrrrr
AAhhh, how well I remember the days of âyellow slickersâ with the helmet-like hat and the yellow boots. We had to have our names on the inside because everyone else had a set just like ours but we didnât get wet. Just a bunch of lemon drops walking down the sidewalk ! ! ! ! !
Sort of like those kids who refuse to wear a navy watch cap in the dead of winter because it will mess up their hair. At least when they get admitted to the hospital for pneumonia they will show up with nice looking hair.
Oh, this is SO me! I went to a boarding school until I left the ninth grade, so had no idea about how to dress ânormallyâ â had to make it up as I went along.

I remember my son, age 10 or so, coming home from school in the middle of winter with his jacket wide open, no hat, no mittens. Definitely âcoolâ.
