So Ray’s father who died had a daughter who he gave up for adoption and she was adopted by Captain Ruiz’s parents who have a daughter Captain Yolanda Ruiz so Yolanda and Carla are step-sisters, right? (I am an only child and my mother was an only child so I have difficulties keeping up with family relatives.

Also remember; the parents who adopted Yolanda & Carla had a high Ranking Cuban Police relative. Yolanda, at least, was old enough to carry messages.

Piece of cake…I had a uncle who was my cousin…

My aunt (maternal) had him out of wedlock, and put him up for adoption. My grandmother (paternal) adopted him, because we think one of her sons ( brother to my father) was the father. So my cousin became my “uncle” and so remained…It’s The American Way!..,And we aren’t not even from Arkansas…OR in Politics!

StoicLionOf course they can, and do. It is called “American exceptionalism”, which means we are above all laws, legislative or moral. USA! USA! USA!

Don’t confuse “cannot do” with “don’t get caught doing”I “cannot” breathe underwater without scuba gear.I “don’t get caught” driving over the speed limit.

DavidHuieGreenWas there a German exceptionalism in 1936? I am beginning to see some of the trappings of Fürherprinzip in the news late today. That is what awakened an early interest in politics in a four-year-old with next-door neighbors who just got out before the gates were shut, and since they had six kids and the rest of the neighborhood had only four, logically decided we should learn German. Unfortunately, we moved away before I could become bilingual painlessly, but I did learn to count in both languages at the same time without confusion.
