AffiI don’t understand why you chaps changed in the first place, my windows XP works just fine………..

I have had no problems with Windows 10 on my laptop although it did take a couple hours when I switched from Windows 7. I’m worried about my PC which has Windows Vista, which is going to lose support, & how to not lose any files!

I refuse to upgrade from Windows 7 to 10. When I do finally have to replace my computer, I’m pretty sure I’m going to Mac, unless Windows does a major turnaround in their operating system before then.

Windows 10 is garbage. I installed it, it took half the day. When I tried to play the games I normally play, the game would hang up. Turns out Windows 10 has a security/virus protector that can’t be turned off, and it was interfering with everything I was doing. I went back to Windows 7.

I would go to 10 before 8. My mom had 8 (since upgraded to 10), and I can’t stand it. Both of them are way too much of an attempt to put a mobile operating system on a normal laptop. It works on a phone, due to the size, but from my experience is terrible on a full-size laptop. Of course, I hate mobile websites even on my phone.

get a mac you won’t go back. the older OS, snow leopard is my favorite. the newer units force me to use Mnt Lion but I refuse to update to Maverick!they change things in ways to make it less user friendly. My old OS Panther was just Fine! I had the install disks so if it went bonkers I just erase the HD via FIre wire and reformat. I never do updates. they have turned out to be downgrades.I’ve had really good luck getting used macs from craigslist.there is a feature even the apple guy didn’t know about. it’s been in the OS since Panther “speech recognition”I can tell her to “get my mail” and she reads it to me too! It reads out loud web pages, anything I can swipe the cursor over. I had a Dell for 4 days. it was the worst experience I ever had! dell from hell .. so was the support they give! the guy said, take off the norton and then It got a virus and a worm! back to dell it went on day 4! After getting the ibook I never used antivirus. I never lock anything, no passwords on the unit at all. I cant stand all that extra labor when all I do is look at comics. I had to clone the HD for a backup because crApple no longer supplies install disks. I guess they didn’t want us to have so much control over our units?

I’m on win 7 and I won’t change it, as long as it works… there should be a law that they can’t stop supporting their own software… I’m surprised that no one is making updates for older windows OSs, seems to me, there would be a market for it!
