He had three weeks to do it. But it’s everyone else’s fault that he didn’t complete the assignment. Ironically, there are many who post here who will agree with him. So why should anyone ever take responsibility for their own actions when so many people will accept the idea that when they procrastinate, it’s someone else’s fault?
I never managed to get that excuse past my mother let alone get the chance to use it with the teacher. But 40 years difference in time and acceptance of attitudes might be a help to him.
EXCUSES—never ‘flew’ in our house. If you had job to do it had best get done or there would be consequences—withholding of allowance, restricted playtime(both after school and weekend), no after school TV, etc. until such time had past that there was an assumption that a lesson had been learned.
I got a chuckle out of Michael’s excuses. I have heard them all, in one form or another, over the years, and probably used a variation of them myself, when I was his age.
@comicsssfan. In Newfoundland they teach basic screech production,and how to get to the Alberta oil patch by bus,rail,or thumb. Ha ha, just kidding Timelordsoundwave,One of my favorite writers,Wayne Johnston is from Newfounndland so the schools can’t be all that bad!
Either that was a sarcastic comment about the term or you are implying all generations before or since are somehow inferior because they did not serve in WW2.

I hated school and didn’t do well till I took night classes and got a degree in programming. It was important so I applied myself.
