I used to know them. They are actually nice people. Oh, and they say it is supposed to be nice today.

Some modern sayings just don’t translate into the past. One of my favorite is, ‘If Edison hadn’t invented the light bulb,we’d be watching television in the dark!’

Reminds me of the three branches in D.C. – right once – rarely twice.

I suppose the most obvious non-sequitur is" You can’t get there from here".

They make battery-less watches that never need winding, why not iPhones without batteries and four bars in horror movies?

“They” say that about clocks, and since “they” were probably talking about analog clocks when they said it, “they” were right. Doesn’t quite apply to sundials, and it doesn’t work too well with digital watches either, since a broken one most likely will have no display at all.

That doesn’t make any sense at all.

Actually, once the sun has set, the shadow is always falling on the correct time. (At least til dawn.)

My grandfather’s clock was the best ever made by the Timex comp-any. Just like the clock John Cameron Swayze displayed, last night on the old TV. Oh, it worked under water so perfectly. And it still makes a ticking sound. Which my grandfather tried only this afternoon. And, that’s how the old man drowned. Allan Sherman.

Any relative motion can be converted into electrical energy.Things which do not involve relative motion don’t have kinetic energy to convert.
