After an eagle and a birdie, maybe she’ll get a Woodstock.

Um… how long until we see adults in “Peanuts” finally offscreen? I only see them from the head down.

… is that Dagwood and Blondie in the background crowd?…

This was one of the more unusual story arcs in Peanuts, especially given the twist at the end. And yes, I think the only time adults were featured in any form.

Ummm…weren’t they running the Sunday strips on Fridays? Did they skip a strip?

Nothing will stop her, except naptime.

Why do Charlie Brown’s words make me feel that a disaster is just around the corner?

Something tells me she’ll be disqualified because she’s too young (though she never should have gotten past the registration for the event).

That last panel. I hate it when somebody says that…

I’m floored by this series of Sundays. The detail is fantastic! And Lucy is actually likable. Loving it!!!!

Whatever happens, it’s interesting to see Lucy as actually good at some sort of sport. Most of us just know her as the incompetent outfielder on Charlie Brown’s baseball team.

Lucy was good at armwrestling and boxing, also. At this point in the strip Lucy wasn’t hitting Linus, so you have to wonder how she built up her muscles for those long drives.

With the backing of Charlie Brown – Lucy is dooooomed!….

I had to pull out my copy of “Peanuts Begins – 1953-1954” to see what happens. It wasn’t what I expected.

You never see the full adults. Just like in the special shows for Christmas and all the rest, you never hear the adults say actual words.
