It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and now children, it’s time for Hugh to go to the Magic Kingdom. Can you say “where’s my rolling papers”? I thought you could….
Nuclear melt down averted at the 11th hour. Whew!
When you have Jesus and Mr. Rodgers on your side though, how can you lose.
Mr. Rodgers had a hypnotic effect on me as a child. My Mother says, while I was watching, she could yell my name and I wouldn’t so much as blink an eye.
How many would have watched Rev. Rogers’ Neighborhood? He was ordained Presbyterian, but didn’t force it on anyone. He just wanted everyone to play nice. That’s closer to Jesus than many.
Flight Suit, Jesus is also reported to have said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Thank you for the link. He was a wonderful man.

Anybody ever see that video of Mr. Rogers addressing congress in his early years, talking to them about how most television was very bad for children?
Watch how Rogers seduces the grumpy, skeptical congressman, and you will be awestruck:

This is a reminder that in ancient times, when Jesus said “Blessed are the meek…” the word meek was not necessarily synonymous with “weak.”
Rogers in that exchange is very meek, yet quite powerful.

Oh! Now I’m ALL better.
Glory be! Praise Jesus! (Does he REALLY skateboard? Is that in the Bible?)

Don’t do the blog thing to me again! I can’t take the tension.
Fred Rogers? Is there no end to your capacity for sarcasm? Oh, I suppose you could be turning over a new… Nah.

As a kid, I ruined so much furniture with this.

As long as we (and Teresa) are on the topic of Fred Rogers, this XKCD seems appropriate.
(Be sure to hover your cursor over the image to get the second punchline.)

Fred Rogers can make anything better!
Loved the plastic bubble stuff. I can still evoke the smell… and the popped bubbles were fun to chew.

Even though I was a bit too old to be watching Mr. Rogers, I always enjoyed watching him when I had a hangover.
