He’ll be fine. He’s probably the toughest one there.

@ Pearlandpeach - I read all 3 every day too. But this is GoComics, here. I’m sure you meant to say Comics.com. OBH is one of my favorite strips. BTW is that Pearland, Tx? Fond memories.

James must be needing an autopsy for whatever he picked up.

Kids like that generally have a healthier immune system than those raised by germaphobes. But he will have a nice collection of scars to show off in his old age!

Ma said: You kids wouldn’t be so healthy if you didn’t eat everything in the yard. Sure kids get hurt. That’s how they learn. You want a learning environment, go to the dump’ Why do you need toys? God gave you imagination. The main truck route between Albany and NY passes 30 feet from the door. You’re going chase that ball without looking?

Both parents had PhD in Child Psychology What would the DCF say today?

Eating dirt is how the immune system gets trained. It is safe as long as they don’t get something too nasty for their little systems - like anthrax from a dead animal. Or chemical poisons like lead, mercury, or dioxin.

    You tell him Ruthie!

I used to work for a helmet maker where we gave replacement helmets for anyone who sent in an “accident proven” helmet with a report. The saddest ones were when there had been a friend without a helmet in the accident with the survivor.

Skateboard made from a clamp on roller skate & a 2by4. Never needed a paper parachute to jump out of trees. Tasted everything, I still taste new plants. My autopsy should be educational.

James just craves attention. I can’t imagine that he’d get any (positive) attention at home!

That which doesn’t kill you may make you stronger, but meanwhile the rest of us have to pick up too many corpses. Let’s have a happy medium - do the railing but wear a helmet!
