Back in the days when Russia was still Communist. Today? Not so much.

For the record, the USSR was not Communist, nor was it particularly Socialist; it was first Leninist, then Stalinist. Not by any stretch of the imagination Communist, or even really left-leaning. Well, to be fair, Lenin’s idea was to force Communism without going through all the required steps of Marx’s Historical Inevitability, (didn’t work, BTW), but – while he may, indeed, have been a true believer in his youth – by the time Stalin consolidated power, he had about as much dedication to the principles of Marxism as the RNC does to those of democracy; he was always somewhere between Fascism and monarchy.

Mrs. Limekiller should realize it’s hard to reason with unreasonable people.
