I wake up to the news. The last four years, I have kept being jolted out of bed way more violently than Prince could ever do.

Might not be quite so bad waking up to Prince if you didn’t insist on leaving the volume turned up to “11” …

I like the Mother Jones Poster. The magazine of that name is a great publication too, had a revealing write up about Biden, Delaware and banking last December.

Amen, brother … (and I’m an atheist).

My husband has a saying: “I can’t hit the snooze button because the snooze button hits back.” You see, I’m the one who wakes him up!

As the Nazi interrogator snarled to the clock radio, “Ve have vays to make you tock.”

I just want to know since when does a digital clock radio go tick-tock or even just tick?

Way back in high school, I experimented with waking up to music instead of a beep-beep-beep alarm. I woke up at about 10:30, roughly two hours after school had started. That was the one-and-only time. Guess I needed Prince to kick me in the head.

The joys of retirement! I wake up whenever I want to! Haven’t set an alarm clock in months, maybe longer….

As I read this comic, by happenstance I am listening to a newly released live recording of the Waterboys from 1986, covering “Purple Rain” And yes, with an extended folky violin solo. Not funky. Folky.

One thing I remember about clock radio alarms is that, during my last two years of high school, when my 6am alarm would go off on Mondays, WNEW in NY would always play 10,000 Maniacs ‘Like the Weather’ after the news. Ritual for them and it grew into expectation by me.
