According to the Urban Dicionary, âa super energetic individual âgoing offâ verbally or physically, consequently âbouncing around the roomâ and off the walls like a âsuper ballââ
Do you remember where YOU were on 2/12/1987 when the bandâs name was changed to âBilly and the Boingersâ? It is a day that has the same impact as the day they got rid of âNew Cokeâ and when âSaved by the Bellâ premiered". Legendary daysâŠlike that.
Yeah, I donât remember either. But what a great name!
Super balls⊠now thereâs a memory. In the mid 60âs when super balls were introduced as toys (and they were amazing at the time) a 12-13 year old me found one and after playing with it for a while, my nascent impulse control slipped and I bounced it off the pavement and smacked it with a baseball bat. I donât know if it burned out on reentry, stayed in orbit or exactly what happened to the thing, but it sure vanished.
This may be a reference to how the Rolling Stones got their name. Legend has it that Brian Jones just blurted it out when a promoter asked what the band was called.

Probably inspired by Billy Vera and the Beaters, a popular band at the time.
