Looks like Blaze accepted the offerHow the MCU seem to be familiar with Baze? I will be disappointed if Lee/T-Bolt did not include Blaze in her reports. It is not good if Lee is filtering the report she submits to the MCU.

If I remember correctly, what the MCU know about Blaze came from Lee Ebony. She did report on her being connected with the Blackhearts but don’t think reported her doing any crime as she was mostly acting as a courier. Of course Blaze was working with Doubleup when they were trying to find Jimmy Choo Shooz. I don’t know if T-Bolt was aware of that operation. She was acting primarily as Bribery’s bodyguard.

Idoubt Blaze Rize would phone directly the Police Headquaerers! Surely Sam meant Lee Ebony!

Anyone knows how Notta came to have that beard?

My interpretation is that Sam’s call came from Lee Ebony, telling him that Blaze Rize was at the Suds and Duds. Tracy and Sam are ready to roll because they want to bring her in for questioning, based on her known association with Bribery, although at this point she is not wanted for any specific crime (something could come out in the wash—so to speak—later on, however). How Blaze will react to the rapid appearance of Tracy and Sam is unpredictable, even though T-Bolt probably told her she’d arrange a meet; Blaze is clever enough that she may come to suspect T-Bolt (or worse than just “suspect”); Lee is going to have to be very careful to maintain her cover….

If I may add something about Notta’s dress, it reminds me of a costume that Diana Rigg wore as Mrs. Peel in an Avengers episode involving the Hellfire Club (perhaps someone can attach a screen shot of said outfit)…I think this would line up with the timeframe that Gould introduced Notta in.

As for your other question about the attire of dominatrices, I am certainly no expert on that subject———————————Notta’s an exhibitionist who likes to advertise what she has, maybe to compensate for her very male beard.She’s no dominatrix. She’s just a nasty, selfish, vengeful woman.I’ve known a surprising number of women with whips; none of them were remotely like Notta. BDSM is more of a sexual roleplaying game. You know the jokes: the couple who play ‘the pirate and the maiden’ or ‘Red Riding Hood and the wolf’? It’s a lot more like that than you think.And as for the wardrobe, it varies from minimal to head-to-toe, and can be leather, latex, spandex, silk and satin… (you get the idea; it’s usually an unusual material with a distinctive feel. I’ve never heard of anyone who found cotton or polyester kinky). It also includes outfits based on military uniforms, medical attire, or medieval fantasy.It’s a lot more than somebody in leather with a whip.

Wonderful art yet again. Lizz looks smashing in pearls and V-neck blouse. Sam is on the job in his iconic attire, fresh kerchief in pocket. Tracy dons hat, which confirms his intention to roll to the Suds and Duds. Bribery grins from the monitor, as if to mock the MCU for allowing his daring escape from Ace Tower. I can’t recall Tracy wearing a yellow shirt before. Happy to give that a pass, as the gocomics colorist is usually quite good.Thanks for the great b/w panels, Neil. Good stuff! Gould’s Klipoff was a chain-smoker and less appealing than Staton’s. Looks like Tracy was premature on his call to send Purdy to the Morgue. He was alive, if barely so. We know that his final destination was to a home with Notta as his sole caretaker until Blaze showed up to (temporarily) lighten the load.

Thanks for another fine post and panels, Willy007. The popularity of Notta led to the pivot to Piggy’s farm, as you point out. The Chin Chillars of the Piggy story were different from the couple we saw in the Space Coupe chase. While Tracy and Diet had run them ragged—to the point of their being out of food, readers saw them in a different light once they became Piggy’s hostages. The strip is often at its best when criminals meet up with a criminal who is more dangerous, ruthless and violent than they are. With all her faults, Notta was not nearly as reprehensible as Piggy. She is more complaex than that swine. This is part of what makes the time spent on Piggy’s farm so interesting. Classic, even.

I agree, Gweedo! I’ve wondered for some time if Gould modeled Mrs. Chin Chillar after a specific look. Saloon girl? Playboy bunny? I have no doubt now that Mrs. Peel’s roaring hot “Queen of Sin” costume was his primary inspiration.I may have found another link between Mrs. Peel and Mrs. Chin Chillar, based on an interesting comment from the article I linked above. This is regarding Mrs. Peel’s introduction, and the fact that she was shown with a chain on her left wrist. There is a fascinating correlation with Notta’s role in the strip as Piggy’s love goddess, and her dual role as his submissive and slave (I’ve bolded the most pertinent stuff):“Emma may see her role as the Dominatrix Royale, but Cartney has also cleverly garbed her as the collared and leashed submissive, he wants to discipline her, enslave her, possess her…I’ve suggested before that Mrs. Chin Chillar’s doting subservience to Piggy, coupled with her dominatrix appearance, introduced an ironic eroticism to the story. Piggy exalted her as his sexy Little Housemother and delighted in letting her dominate his thoughts, but he also kept Mrs. Chin Chillar imprisoned and at heel as his doting servant. This is very similar to Mrs. Peel’s kinky fantasy role in the Avengers’ episode. The kinky porn lying around Piggy’s bedroom certainly hints that this was Gould’s intent and inspiration.This also raises many questions about what exactly is going on between Blaze (herself a dominatrix) and Notta (who has brought Blaze to heel, perhaps as part of her sexual fantasy?). Remember Notta’s comment to Blaze last year (4/3/2015), when they met for the first time? *”I always prefer to work with people who are experienced, don’t you?"* It seemed sexually suggestive the first time around, and in light of subsequent developments, I think it definitely was.So many complexities to Mrs. Chin Chillar! After all this time, and we’re still trying to unpack it all.

……guess we can look forward to seeing Flaky Biscuits show up alive somewhere again, in order to make this work…..although I don’t think that was the intention way back then…..
