Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for June 19, 2016
June 18, 2016
June 20, 2016
Transcript:
Phoebe: I know! Let's play MARCO POLO.
Marigold: Good idea! I will be right back. You be Kublai Khan and we will exchange pasta recipes!
Phoebe: I play it kind of differently.
In Xanadu did Kublai Khan a stately pleasure dome decree-, the rest of the poem eludes me, much as it did the author who purportedly based this on a drug influenced dream and couldn’t remember all of it when he woke up. I believe it was P. B. Shelley. Probably one of the few poetic works that people remember from their school days (along with Ozymandias).

I do not understand the game of “Marco Polo.” I have never understood it. I will go to my grave not understanding it.
