I never bothered much until I saw that episode of Mythbusters about the aerosol effects of flushing.

Flushing with the lid down forces stuff out of the sides further…… just like constricting the end of a hose pipe.

I bet she keeps the toothbrushes in the fridge to ensure none of them get those yucky poo germs on them.

Closing the lid doesn’t help the spread of germs all that much. We keep the lid closed to keep the cats out of the water. I, too saw that Mythbusters episode. That’s when I started doing the ultraviolet treatments on my toothbrush.

I once bent over to pick up something from the floor just as I flushed and got hit with the back-splash. Seat DOWN, folks!

And yes, we’re all covered with germs, but not poo germs.

just get over it, people, and recognize that to live normally in this world, you need to have a good, strong immune system!

YES! I actually wrote in sharpie “Close the lid BEFORE flushing” on the underside of the toilet seat. Small bathroom… toothbrush only 3 feet away! (Also keeps dogs OUT of the toilet!)
