I was sure it was going to be cicadas, a noise like nothing they’ve ever heard. Seventeen years is a lifetime in cat years.

He’s remembering when “they danced by the light of the moon” and she obviously wants to forget.

My mother told me (many, many years ago) that it was a fancy slotted serving spoon with wide tines. (imagine a large Victorian silver spork). That’s what I always thought it was.But just now, I googled it, looking for a nice image to post and I read the Wikipedia article about “runcible.”Apparently Edward Lear made up the word because it sounded humorous and used it in several poems – with different meanings for each use.In the 1920s the word was applied to that pronged serving spoon.

Georgia, you are so delightfully sneaky!!!! Among Burt’s dime novel romances in Beatrix’s Investigative report last week, you had one book the Owl & the Pussycat. Now that i look a little more closely I can see a resemblance to Baba Mouse. Should have seen today’s strip coming!! LOVE IT!!

This is the only strip in the world that makes me smile every time it comes out, guaranteed. I’ll have to start looking through the strips more closely. I always miss the easter eggs, which is a shame because I can find them almost anywhere else. (Teen Titans)

Second rate feather duster ? Ohhh, baba has a sharp tongue. As ever, I love the boys in their various pajamas. Especially love how they are so consistent-same suits, same pajamas, same ties.

I found BCN through the alumni magazine for my husbands college, University of Rhode Island. I am not one to look for comics on line, so would still be unaware even now. Thank you, Rhody :). Now I spend a fair amount of time and have even begun reading some of my favorites not available locally here on GoComics. A real delight to have Calvin and Hobbes and BCN, together….
