Is it improper manners to utilize a steak knife to spread butter on your roll (when all the butter knives are in the dish washer)?

He’s using a fork and not his hands…count your blessings

Don’t blame Earl. Even restaurants have given out two identical forks for years now.

That’s one unnecessary extra fork apiece. I hope Opal at least doesn’t make Earl wash them.

I just say " Fork It…"

I only use one fork.

I never got the point of that. I use one fork and one spoon. I’m not cut out for black-tie affairs, I suppose.

Act like a southerner, Earl, use your hands.(With insincere apologies to any fellow southerners who may have been offended)

Just use one fork for everything. Less dishwashing that way.

At least he doesn’t mop up his gravy with his bread, like a certain country hick of my acquaintance. sigh….

What’s a salad fork? I use a regular fork for everything. I’m a free living adult and I does what I wants to!

It’s always a conundrum whether to use the fig dork or the poup soon !

And in the “invisible” 5th panel, Opal smacks Earl on the head…or does like my mom did to dad: dumps the food over his head. Really happened…dad smarted off, mom dumped chili over his head…he made the mistake of saying something else and the chili was followed by some iced tea

I kind of agree with Earl here. People make such a stupid fuss. Heaven forbid if we use a smaller fork or spoon.xxx

Do I detect just a hint ( just a hint mind you )of sarcasm from Earl ? Way to go Earl !

I got my husband a spork with a cutting edge. He’s loving it.

If she had put the short fork on the outside, he would have grabbed it for his salad. Don’t blame Earl for your own sloppy table setting Opal…

What are homes for?
