Wouldn’t it be great is someone (Frazz, the great guru, or someone who cares) could show this kid how to entertain himself in a self-enriching way? Am I wrong in thinking his brilliance is being wasted?

Winter is coming.

Darn, for a minute I was thinking it was September tomorrow! Can barely stand it until fall – crisp air and colorful trees…

That is true about car dealers having to meet their quotas on selling cars. I’m seeing more car ads on television that I do those political ads!

Well the kid dreads impending school. Tough. I love the fall fishing, the opening of dove season, the cooler weather, the lower AC bill, the opening of windows…..But I am an old fart

I’m informed by about umpty-three political campaigns that the end of the month is some kind of fund-raising deadline, and it’s important that I beat it. They never explain WHY, tho.

Only thing the campaigns are getting from me is a short trip to the recycle bins. Wish there was a way to recycle some of the mulch they put out. Would solve both the energy crisis and the pollution problem at one move.

Carl42SGAny “twins” in that group. I challenge astrology by pointing out that Carol Burnett and I were born within three degrees of latitude, one degree of longitude, and a few hours of each other, but have no more similarities than with any randomly selected individual of that general age.

Youth playing head bashing football is dangerous and deleterious to their mental health. They should end it in schools. Unfortunately it is a cash cow for those schools. No cash for the students, just everyone else. There is a reason why the top education countries do not have such things beyond PE. But that is just me.

When we were in Canada, it took my kids three years to discover their high school had an interscholastic football team and they never did find out whether they used US high school or Canadian professional fields and rules. House teams (think Harry Potter) intramural sports were the big thing and everyone participated.

My birthday is August 24th, I’ll take that for my end of August excitement.
