Does this mean the dittos are Lucranian? How do the Lucranian computers know Holly’s back story? Are Wally’s crew experiencing their own hallucinations? So many questions, what’s next?

Wow. Nice. They’ve been on that ship since November 2015. But why show them how all this began? Aaron Marx said that Lucranian salvage vessels were mostly automated, designed to gather stuff valuable enough to resell (May 22, 2012). The Central Computer interface is composed of dittos (May 29, 2012). So I have two questions: 1) why did the ship show the first days of the war to Wally and the Gang, and 2) Why lure them on board? Now, I THINK Aaron Marx is involved, because Aaron used the dittos to show Wally’s history to Holly (March 26-April 12, 2012), and now Wally just saw Holly’s origin story. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Well it is the something Fitzgerald (could just as easily be the Ella Fitzgerald). The Opabinia Queen was another Lucranian salvage vessel that was made from the largest wooden sailing vessel I had ever seen. Aaron Marx won the ship from its previous captain in a card game and Wally eventually became its captain shortly before the ship came to grief. It doesn’t look like Wally made it to the bridge yet but the ship may have decided that he is the best candidate for captain of the group and officially bestowed the position on him.

Wally interrupted the computer just as it was about to say that all of them talk to each other. That’s why this ship knows who Wally is. Also, apparently Marx hadn’t been lying about the Lucranians after all.

Or, just to mind mess a little, what if THIS is all dittos too?

So ask him why he made them spectators in the Life of Holly Hollister (Part One: The Apocalypse.)

I wonder how real the food was they ate in the restaurant.

I’ve had a feeling all along that they were still on board the ship the whole time, but kept my mouth closed (or my typing fingers still) this whole time just in case I was wrong.I’ve been wondering about the food, too, but I’m guessing that the ship inserted real food from the galley into the illusion so they could really eat.So now, hopefully, we’ll get some answers.

Another clue: in the November 23-25 strips, the dittos they were using all disappeared when Wally and the gang approached the ship. Remember that the ship’s computer interface is composed of dittos (May 29, 2012)…

OK, so if you do an image search on “Edmund Fitzgerald”, you’ll see it exactly matches the ship as originally shown in November 2015 strips. Well done!

Called it. Probably have some sort of quantum-entangled communication system that allows for untraceable network communication so the Topsiders would never detect a signal to know it was in use.

I suspect that the dittos aren’t a Lucranian creation, but just another item they salvaged and adapted. And I’ve wondered about the food also. Can you get nourishment by digesting dittos, if that is even possible? Marx did produce on demand by Mallard a pack of Cinnamon Trout gum from an alternate dimension. Maybe the dittos can do a transdimensional extraction.

I vote for the ship being named the Schroedinger Fitzgerald. Wally’s still real after opening the box, and the waveform decohered, returning to the universal waveform.

Just keeps getting more and more interesting…

    Can’t wait!

Also neat that it’s the Edmund Fitzgerald.

But dang is it really intriguing for the ship to have shown them all of that..curious to find out!

I’m no sure why the dittos put on the floor show. Maybe they sensed Wally’s unspoken desire to know Holly’s backsory. Maybe they were playing Holly’s worst memories for the same reason the dittos of Hillside played back Sparkplug’s memories of how he weaponized Aimsworth radiation and saw his world destroyed. Maybe Aaron Marx is involved.I’m wondering if the ship wants from Wally. Maybe it just wants some form of companionship after being abandoned by its previous captain. Maybe it thinks Wally can free it from being stuck. Maybe its some form of trap, a honeypot to trap mutants who can be cleaned up (of the mutagen) and sold in another reality. It will be interesting to know the ship’s agenda.

This guy—-does he have a name?—-did obey Wally’s order: “Show me where I really am!” That means this area is probably a ditto projection, or Wally would see Holly and the others around somewhere, still lost in whatever ditto illusion they’re now in…

The Lucranians aren’t aliens, according to Aaron. He wouldn’t say what they actually are, but he didn’t deny they were some unknown terrestrial race.

While there’s no actual time travel, there are parallel worlds that mirror the past, such as the Duchess’s, and those that would mirror the future. The Lucranians could be from a future mirror and are salvaging the worlds that mirror their past, that they know have stuff valuable to them that no one else is around to claim. The Lucranians could be what the survivors of the End will become in their future, with advanced technology like dittos and dimensional travel, and weird books and language evolved through history. They could be like the Observers in “Fringe”.
