Ten Cats by Graham Harrop for October 05, 2016

So sad here without the pictures and your stories about your lifes and your cats. Some of you are friends at Facebook, but not all here use facebook… will we now all lose sight? Will we never be the TenCatsFamily as we have been the times before. Mr. Graham Harrop dedicated some comicstrips to his commentators… It seems to be a “good bye friends” without pics. So sad!

I love this strip and I miss the pictures y’all used to post. But I will continue to read Ten Cats. It’s still a favorite of mine. >^..^<

Miss the camaraderie that the comments and pictures have formed. They woke me up in the morning and gave me a chuckle when needed.I think that GoComics made a bad choice when trying to protect us. GoComics is not as much fun as it was. It is no longer high on my priority morning routine.

I sent a respectful email to the sysops of Gocomics and got this reply:

We understand that for some of our users whom have been respectful of our previously policies, that these changes may be disappointing. However, all these changes have been made in the hopes of creating a more streamlined, positive, and protected user experience for everyone that visits our sites.

I miss the pictures, but I hope that everyone who used to visit Ten Cats will continue to do so.

We can still tell tales about our pets.

bbear: if you actually got a reply as written, it means that gocomics is from a foreign country where English is not a first language or else they are incredibly stupid. BTW: I miss the pictures too as I am a cat lover/servant

I wouldn’t miss Ten Cats even if there wasn’t a comments section! One of the best strips ever – Charles Schultz would have loved it.

I deleted my credit card information and sent a request for cancellation stating that I felt the new posting policy was needlessly antagonistic. My browser supports adbloc.

I am not a frequent poster, but really miss the pics not being posted. Made my days better with smiles and chuckles. Hope comments from many will at least help to keep a sort of bond between fans of Ten Cats. Not sure it I will renew in Feb or not…have adblock..

Uh oh! I’ve been working extra hours these past few days. Looks like I missed something! We can’t post pictures anymore? THey just took away half the fun we had here!

Well,before they start dictating as to the type of comments we can make as welI, want to add my thanks to everyone who posted pictures in the past. It was the pictures that got me to start reading this strip in the first place. I got into the strip after a couple days of reading it, but the pictures were the thing that had me laughing the most.

I also want to wish everone a GREAT DAy before they tell us we can’t do that. either.

Thank you so much for everyone who posted pictures in the past! You made me smile everyday and while I didn’t thank you enough then, every day, I appreciated all the time and effort you put in to make my day so much better!

I will still read Ten Cats, and the comments, I still need to hear about the exploits of Marvellous Moose and his fostering ways :-) What I will do is hit Goat-Chronic where it hurts, revenue. I’m not going to renew my Pro subscription, and I will switch this site to my ad-blocked browser. I will still post comments to Ten Cats, and a couple of other comics, but it is with a sad heart that I won’t be able to enjoy the pictures that used to be posted.

I miss the pictures as well. I previously had nearly 60 comics I read daily…giving gocomics considerable “click credit”. (advertising $$) That number is now down to 3. (Ten Cats made the list and remains #1).

Perkycat, I have dealt with goat comics before. If that was your reply from them, I don’t think they will change their minds, sadly. AND the NEGATIVE NANCY’s who beyotched all the time about everything, I think are the ones who caused this!

Ten Cats fans are the best! and hopefully bbear and others will go on reading their favorite features, and can still give links to funny things they want to share….

If truth be told, the main reason I visit this strip was the pictures. While Ten Cats is still in my list, I have removed all of the strips that I can get at other sites or my local paper. But I will not be driven away by trolls or their supporters. I will continue to comment as I see fit on my favorite strips. WildeBill Lives!

What’s positive about not having any pictures?!?

The comic’s not that great, I come here to see all the cute kitty pictures. Shame on Go Comics.

I’ll still read it and comment – it’s the people who comment who are great and who make this space what it is, the photos are just the icing on the cake. Maybe they’ll backtrack and change their minds about the new policy. One can only hope.

Thank goodness Annie mentioned ‘earplugs’ in today’s strip. We’re heading up north tomorrow morning to ‘leaf peep’ with final destination being Vermont and New Hampshire. I will need EAR PLUGS as my roomie says she SNORES. LOL

Ironically the electric company has decided to cut off electricity tomorrow to ‘trim foliage’ above the live wires. Glad I won’t be around …. but Mark will. At least 20 households are affected. OY. My cats WILL complai

I removed 5 strips that I can read elsewhere. That leaves 7 for here.

I keep reading the reason for the change and get more annoyed each time. “..to fight off abuse from the spammers…” DEAL WITH THE SPAMMERS. Don’t punish the rest of us.

Go to today’s Dick Tracy (Oct 5) where poster Ray Toler has posted names of top Uclick people with an address. Read the post and remember, no nasty letters as these top level people may not have been involved in the recent changes. You will need paper and stamps for THIS company contact !

One last comment before taking my leave- I have enjoyed and looked forward to your pictures, running commentary, chatty-ness and feeling of closeness. I will miss my morning wake up, afternoon pick-me-up, and ‘bedtime stories’. Best wishes to all.

If they really want to protect against spammers, they should take a look at their own advertisers. Many times one of the ads redirects me clear off the site, and often manages to clear history so the back button doesn’t work.

While I will also greatly miss the posted pictures (Hx3 – thanks for all the cute old-school “typewriter key” bunnies today!), I will be even more saddened if the regular Ten Cats commentors stop sharing their stories from their lives. I loved the pictures, they are what first drew me in to the Comments section (previously, I had just been reading the strip & moving on), but I’ve come to also enjoy the stories from everyone’s lives.

Starting a new comment, in case I run out of characters mid-thought. And I always enjoyed when it became obvious that Graham was also reading the comments, and would occasionally incorporate a reference to a commentor in his strip. I do not comment often, but I do read the comments from every day, and feel almost as if I know many of you in person from your stories. So please, please, keep sharing your stories!!

I was copying and pasting yesterday’s links to get to see the pictures. Wasn’t too much work for me. Not sure what a hassle it for for the poster. Anyway, that was one way to get around the ban on no pictures. Ten Cats is the only comic I read the comments. :-)
