I have to admit that, as corny as they are, this is the reason I actually like the movies “New Years Eve” and “Valentine’s Day”. There are a lot of characters, but by the end of the movie, you see how they are all connected, as diverse as they are. Mindless fun.
Except these days many writers never feel like they have to put things together. They are too lazy to come up with something, instead opting to “allow the reader/viewer to come up with their own ending.” Hey, if I wanted to do that I’d write my own story. I’m still so glad I stopped watching LOST when I did, because my husband kept saying “there’s no way they are going to be able to explain all this.” Sadly, he was right. ALIAS was another one—they never explained the whole Rambaldi/Sydney/Irina connection. Can you tell I’m still bitter, lol?!
@Yakety Sax:First it’s only parody, then someone has the same idea and takes it very seriously. Like Carl Barks with Gyro Gearloose’ inventions, and today we actually have Segways and Solowheels.
@tsandl:Well, I guess it wasn’t only about the stories…?Snoopy’s story reminds me of the exceptional world building and character building Charles Schulz did all his life. That’s just the opposite.
Just realized that Snoopy’s novel could be a loose interpretation of Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV), The shot being the shooting of Liea;s cruiser, the pirate ship, Vaders Star Destroyer, and of course the farm boy is obvious.

Everything up to the pirate ship is about the true heir (that Kansas farm boy) being kidnapped, so the bad king could seize the throne…
mulder42 over 8 years ago
In Part II, we find out the Kansas farm boy is actually an alien from another planet who came here as a baby…
