    I’ve always voted for whomever I wished, regardless of the political orientation of my gramma (who was a school teacher).

    I favor stamping out “whom”. Very few sentences cannot be understood correctly without it and they can be easily re-written. “Whom” can go the way of “thee” and “ye”.
