You say ‘she finally came to her senses and realized she had no future with someone who didn’t care if her hurt her.’

I wonder what she ever saw in him. He’s not even handsome! Which wouldn’t matter a bit if he were faithful. But he seems to have no redeeming value at all.

Back story: Ted was a bachelor (doctor) who dated freely and then when one girlfriend got too serious, he eloped with his receptionist (Irene), who had secretly “crushed” on him for years. Hence, his disregard for his wife. Too bad for her, that he had no real regard for her, but she had some idea of what she was getting into.

That’s better than the note my brother got. He married a woman who was in a bitter custody battle for her children. He helped her in every way possible, showing the courts that she had a wonderful, stable homelife, etc. Soon after she won custody, on my brother’s birthday, he woke up to find her wedding ring and a note, basically saying that she married him just for the “married home life” appearance to get her kids.

it can be challenging thinking you can tame a player…but players will play.

What sort of body language is Ted conveying in the third panel with his mouth gaping and his hands upside down with palms facing outward?

with players it is always someone else’s fault, they did nothing wrong. They will never change so she is way better off without him.

Ted is just an idiot. He probably cheated on his girlfriends in high school, and college, and his wife didn’t realize she had a loser until it was too late.

After all, when they were dating, he (might) have given her all his attentions, and seemed terrific, but then, old habits (and fools) die hard.

I guess opposites do attract. Irene has class and Ted doesn’t.

My player at least waited until I had recovered from back surgery to tell me he was moving on with a younger female. Best part was that he sent us both the same leather jackets for Christmas, except the store switched the labels and I got her size! What a jerk. Best thing he ever did was end the marriage as I’ve been married now to a wonderful guy for 30 odd years. Things do work out!

We’ve been married for 54 years, so I can’t relate…..but my husband’s best friend just ended his 5th marriage. Or rather she ended it.

He built her a house in another town so she wouldn’t know what he was doing in this one.

    Somebody told her……I wonder who?

We passed our 56th several weeks ago; we always said that no one else would have us!

I’d say she is a fool to work on his house before leaving.
