This is scary!!! The only broken bone I’ve ever had was on New years day nearly 25 years ago. I rode my son’s GT Racer down an icy hill. I made it all the way to the flat at the bottom when I realized I was going so fast I was going to go over the ledge at the bottom into a bunch of trees. So I slammed on the (This is not a brake) brakes and the sled flipped over breaking my ankle.

This is your brain on Calvin.

You can’t stop while you’re going down a hill on a sled.

This shows good planning on Calvin’s part. Perhaps misestimation and poor judgment – but he has thought this thing through before acting.

I don’t understand. All of that stuff, except the ice, is true in summer, but Calvin doesn’t hesitate for a nanosecond then. What is different about the winter?
