I’ll bet is a self-advantage project

It’s on the same principle as calling a street Forest Boulevard when there are no trees on it. Or Oak Street when there are only maples.

It’s true, it’s a horror!!

Don’t it always seem to go, but you don’t know what you got til it’s gone. They paved paradise and put up a parking lot.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this project were headed up by some shady characters.

I live next to a Piney Grove with most of the pines removed and never replaced. Small shade trees are being planted in yards and along the streets, though.

Sad, first a dead raccoon and now a dead forest. When they start clear cutting the national parks this is what they will look like.

When will they ever learn… when will they ever learn?

Calvin would have seen many more shocking events since the original publication date.

And on the news this morning, the Great Barrier Reef, which protects part of Australia from ocean waves, is dead or dying because of global warming.

Looks like Jill’s forest (from last week’s Non Sequitur)…

Of course, Calvin’s own home sits on a former forest, too.

Or in the western US and Canada naming subdivisions, boulevards, resorts, etc. after tamaracks, when the tress are actually larches.

You must be referring to Mother Nature. She’s probably the only one whose tress would be larches… ☺

Yep…Woodfield Shopping Center, once the world’s largest enclosed mall. Guess what there’s none of anywhere in sight.

People gotta live somewhere, Calvin. You’ve got your house. Would you make all those other people homeless? The ultimate social problem: population. Nobody wants to talk about it.

Sad how nobody cares about the environment anymore, especially not politicians. :(

Looking on the bright side, a construction site with earth moving equipment is a great playground for a small boy! I had many hours of fun in the apartment complex we lived in, where they were building the new units.

Calvin’s had a horrible week. First his raccoon dies and now the woods are no longer.

Sigh.

It is odd how many “developments” are named after what used to be there.

The township I live in seems to have a policy of “No farm left unmolested.”
