Yuck! When my oldest lost her first tooth, we happened to be in a restaurant. She was so excited that she wanted to show everyone else her bloody hole. I had to shoo her out of there before she grossed out everyone.
I’d told my girls that they could wiggle to their hearts’ content…as long as I was nowhere in sight. I can’t stand the sight of wiggling teeth. Unfortunately, I’m currently a Sunday School teacher for ages 5-7…you know, the PRIME age for tooth wiggling!
Lynn’s Notes:If I think about it, I can still feel the sensation of having a loose tooth; the pop and sting of it being pulled out, and the metallic taste of the hole it left in my jaw. Losing my teeth meant a surge ahead: another leap towards independence!

looks like there’s no corn on the cob; that’d help the tooth a lot

It’s because they’re eating, and every bite moves that tooth, and they feel it. And they have to SHARE!

John is obviously not bothered by Lizzie and her tooth. Of course as a dentist he sees this sort of thing every day.

As God is my witness, I recall having two teeth come out in one spot and a third tooth come in. Maybe the tooth just came out in to separate pieces.

They notice it at the table because eating is generally the only time they are using their teeth (chewing gum, etc. being the main exception).
