What was that info that Kitchen Brush paid Pouch for? It looks like it wasn’t a good plan or it was not implemented correctly. I think Brush has more participation in this story than being involved in a failed holdup. Perenelle is probably running a Carny scheme as mentioned by Brush a few weeks ago.
SAM’S SCHOOL FOR SUPERVILLAINS – Bayonne, NJ – Lesson #16: Pick Your Targets While our aspiring antagonist above has some of the makings of a villain that can rise above others (distinctive appearance, clever nickname, mind for planning big jobs), he has apparently forgotten the cardinal rule of this gig: Never shoot at a TV/movie/comic strip cop! Their aim will always be better than yours and you’ll just be sent off to the Big House… if you’re lucky. Instead, the budding bad guy needs to be choosy in their targets, aiming instead for small-fry until you can build your criminal enterprise to the point where you feel secure enough to take on the heroes. (“Let’s have a hand for that young cowboy… and wish him better luck next time…”)
I’m not sure how Brush is walking away from this. In the last strip Tracy appeared to have shot him in the chest at point-blank range. Either he’s a bad shot or he’s using rubber bullets.
Gonna say it here because It’s been bugging me: Perenelle Flammel had to have let the information out.
Being immortal, she’s bored, so she staged the auction to see what action she could stir up (even getting the Dragon Lady to appear!) and she leaked the info about the transfer (maybe as a challenge to Tracy).
But if the guard dies, she’ll be an accessory to murder, and might be sentenced to…
Life in prison, without parole. (Eisneresque finish?)There. Got it out of my system.

Brush is lucky…..most of those who decided to shoot it out with Dick Tracy usually wound up on a slab in the city morgue.

How will Mike Curtis explain the resurrection of Brush? It looks like Tracy is not surprised to see Brush alive.
I know that someone mentioned Mike’s error but it still needs some explaining on strip as to what happened to the last appearance of Brush.

Wasn’t Brush saying only a week or two ago that Dick Tracy wouldn’t be any problem? I can’t look it up at the moment due to computer problems.

And he said, “Dick, it’s only a scratch. And I’ll better, Dick. I’ll be better just as soon as I am able.”

I love the team up of two masked detectives (except for Dick Tracy). The partnership seems so natural, I hope it will continue. Best, Nick

It appears to me that this strip has had its # of posts drop considerably during the last year – I count 52 for today (including replies).

And so, Brush and Kitchen have struck out, thanks to Tracy and the Spirit!
Now, meanwhile, what’s up with Perenelle Flammel (or whoever she is) and the Elixir of Immortality?
