    ??? My first thought was that this is about insurance… but if that were the case the “but” would not make sense. Hopefully tomorrow’s strip – or some other commenter – will clear this up.

    I also suspect this is a commentary on the potential repeal of the ACA, and the cavalier and potentially disruptive way that seems to be unfolding. BUT… if that is the case, it would have been made much clearly had the doctor said, “SO let’s get going.”

    This does make me appreciate all the more how good political cartoonists are able to convey so much context and commentary, often with great subtlety, through their (often single cell) illustrations. Of course political cartoonists also get to use tools such as labels, characature that Robb doesn’t use in his strip. Kudos to Robb, though, for not trying to use “Doctor” Appelby to make this point. ;)
