Remember in the 60s when matching shirts for men and women were all the rage? My mum altered my dad’s shirts to accept a clerical collar. He had some mighty funky outfits for a Sunday!
@ARMY_NURSE @DALERPEDERSEN Yeah. This was a bit challenging for the colorist. Being gone from the 3rd panel obviously means Arlo went and changed tops (since the slacks are the same color on my monitor). The turtleneck changed subtly, tho’. It appears to be gray on my monitor; indicated also by a change in the highlight color from blue to black. Possibly a macho tweek on Arlo’s part. But he picked a color close enough to satisfy Janis’ feminine penchant for the “twinsies” look, as @DDRAZEN put it. Indicating his “sensitive” side. What a man!
In the black-and-white version of this which my newspaper (Chicago Sun-Times) publishes, Arlo’s shirt becomes white. Probably the changes in the color version were too subtle to visually communicate.

A&J is in the local paper in black & white and in the last panel Arlo had on a white jacket.. Total whiff by the colorist.

He changed from an identicle black coat to a dark grey one. So Janis likes it better if they don’t dress totally alike.
