Well, there many who did not vote for him. But, it is time to move beyond that. Can’t just keep congratulating ourselves for that.

The FBI and CIA have absolutely no right to refuse to conduct the investigation demanded by the President. He is President, and the office has to be respected, simply as a part of respecting the country. Consequently, a through investigation of every shred of evidence that exists which proves that Obama authorized a wire tap of Trump Tower needs to be completed. If it does turn out that all of that evidence proves that Obama did something wrong, then he needs to be held accountable. Conversely, if it turns out that all of the available evidence exists between Trump’s ears, then that area needs to be investigated with equal effort, and the results used to prove that one of these men is unfit to be president—and it isn’t Obama. The idea of this guy in the same hemisphere as the nuclear football scares me rather badly. I was assured by Republican friends that he would have sane people around him who would prevent him from doing anything totally crazy. Who? Kelly Ann? Bannon? Miller? He has selected “people around him” who are crazier than he is, and totally convinced that the world is out to get them. If that isn’t a recipe for disaster, what is?

Rolling disclosures by Trump means he tells the truth after the facts have been made public. And those are the same ones he wants to 86. It happened under Nixon.

Considering the way Trump has referred to McCarthyism, I wonder if he even knows — much less understands — what it consisted of. Seems to me that if there’s any “McCarthyism” going on right now, Trump is the one playing the part of McCarthy.

@DIANNE LEE: The Federal Bureau of Investigation is the nation’s prime law enforcement agency and operates under the Justice Department. It is supervised by the US Attorney General, and is responsible for domestic law enforcement and security. It is not directly under the control of the Office of the President of the United States. If you believe that to be the case, you may have confused the United States with Russia, where Vladimir Putin gives direct orders to every part of their government and can order someone he considers to be a personal enemy to be imprisoned.

    .

As far as the Central Intelligence Agency, that organization is not supposed to be operating within the United States.

It’s almost funny for Trump to be talking about “McCarthyism” since his mentor was Roy Cohn, a close aid to Sen. Joe McCarthy.
