Weird Woodcuts [I think that’s what it is] of 1865!
In the era of the War Between the States, a.k.a. “Civil” War, with its hundreds of thousands of human casualties, only kindly captive Confederate Captain Curtshanks, backed by rogue duster-wearing nightrider Jesse, would stoop to aid a fallen bunny.
There’s probably an incipient Aesop’s Fable lurking in that material.
Rest easy, Sr. Teresa of the Perpetual Lame; your conscience (such as it is) need not be troubled! I have deftly glossed over any naughty bits you may have imagined seeing in this outstanding work of moralizing art!
Three more subscribers have jumped off the train to Froglandia. Don’t worry, Teresa. They weren’t worthy. The rest of us aren’t worthy, either, but we’re enjoying the ride as long as you let us huddle in the corner of in an empty boxcar with enough food and water to sustain life.
Something seems different about Teresa’s work lately. I can’t put my finger on it. It’s still a surprise every day. That’s what I appreciate a lot. It’s like the grab bag of the comics.

Don’t drop the soap… or that bunny. Always be on guard against a man in a trenchcoat approaching you from behind.

What? You’ve never seen two one-armed men levitating a bunny before?

…" I want some hasenpfeffer"…
…that’s not where you pet your pet rabbit…
…Thumper went the same way as Bambi’s mom…
