Once I experienced a driving slow down because drivers ahead were gawking at an accident. As I got closer to the scene, it looked as if a car had rear-ended a small truck. Closer still and… oh, what is that? Chunks of gore all over the car? How horrible! Can people be really slowing down to stare at that? Closest approach. Oh. Car hit a watermelon truck, melons shattered all over the car, pink melon flesh everywhere. No one hurt, apparently, drivers at side of road talking to cops.
I spent 35 years driving a semi cross-country. Trust me, the “OOHH!! An ACCIDENT!! Let’s slow down to gawk and gape, even though it’s on THE OTHER SIDE of the Interstate!” Syndrome is NOT limited to any one part of the country!
“For all the &+#@^! time we’ve been stuck in this stupid back-up, there better be at least ONE dead body to see!”Don’t deny it. You KNOW you’ve thought it.
When I saw a traffic accident, I used to hope that nobody got badly hurt. Now that I’m old and cranky, I just curse the @!#&$^#$ who are slowing me down because they don’t know how to drive.
For once, I understand Rat’s mindset. It’s a relief to see a traffic delay has a definitive cause and not just glut of vehicles. Of course, just about anyone other than Rat would be more sympathetic…
Not quite, Goat. We’ll have lost our humanity when nobody shows any kind of intrest in any kind of disaster, whether that interest be excitment at seeing the disaster or shock that it has happened.

Now Rat will be even later…he will have to slow down to gawk at the wreck…

But goat, pig, and rat were never human to begin with.

At least the traffic jam will be entertaining!

If you die in a traffic accident, it is about 20 times as likely to be reported as a traffic problem as a human tragedy.

Ya expect humanity from a rat?

Why do we hear about some of Steph’s characters owning and/or driving cars, but NEVER see them behind the wheel??

Too many people in the world. More competition for finite resources = Not good for “our humanity”

How ironic…goat speaking on behalf of humanity. Goat is such a pig sometimes.

Did Rat ever have humanity?

Gapers Block! The bane of expressway driving. I try not to gape at accidents, but it really doesn’t help when so many do….
