“And that’s all for today, feline folks… We hope you enjoyed our informative show on the hazards of eating plastic. Don’t go anywhere, we’ll be right back after this short catnap… Er, I mean short break… "
Yum Yum likes to play with elastics, but doesn’t try to eat them. She got completely freaked out last night by someone setting off fireworks near the house. She flew around the apartment shrieking at the top of her lungs as only a Siamese can for the duration (about 15 minutes). We were not amused.
I was a little worried about the new and darkened inky puck, but I have to say that I am loving the demonic little eyes and the subtle ear shifts to show his mood. Perfectly conveys that Pucky has no problem with assertiveness, does he ?
My two loves to try and eat plastic (don’t know why), tape (during the holidays), and the toilet paper. I keep telling them, “you’re not billy goats!”
With my late cat, it was anything stringy. He’d either chew it to pieces, or eat it, or both.
So that meant we had to hide: string (of course), rubber bands, elastic, ribbon, bras, tank tops, swimsuits, shoelaces, earphone cords, any clothing with tassels, a lot of holiday decorations, coats and hoodies with cords…
And any cat toy with anything stringy on it, he could only play with it when someone was holding it, then it went straight back in the drawer. Surprisingly, when he died, it was from natural causes, not from something he ingested.
Also plastic grocery bags. As far as he was concerned, they were more delicious than tuna.
Mercury, our tabby, eats what I call a “hydrocarbon” diet if we leave a plastic bag in his reach. Then every few months he empties his stomach of the mess – all over the carpet (more absorbent).

Bubble wrap and styrofoam for our big male. Thankfully he doesn’t swallow it.

It’s a clear diet.

Styrofoam peanuts – they go right through the digestive system. Foil also runs through the system.

It makes me happy to see that you are one of the artists here on GoComics that read our comments, AND are willing to respond.
Thank you!

I’ve heard this comment before, “I did try the tape, but I didn’t swallow.”

The Woman amuses me every time she yells at Lupin. (for those new to BCN, Lupin had an infection when young and is totally deaf)

I love reading this strip. It reassures me that I’m not the only one on Gocomics that likes cats.

Yeah. Packing tape and cats probably aren’t a good mix.
That smile on Lupin’s face in panel 4, though? Made me laugh.
Fun comic here.
