There’s two types of sports fans: 1. – the one who proclaims his allegiance to a team but usually does nothing more than watch the team occasionally on TV. They usually remain happy and noncommitted. And then there’s 2. – the fan that buys season tickets, actually attend the games, get’s involved in fan clubs, buys the merchandise; in short, really gets into it with no small commitment of time, money, and effort. They are the ones who may eventually realize that perhaps they love the team more than the team loves them. That can be quite a shock.
Surprisingly timely, given all the recent huffing and puffing over Richard Sherman suggesting NFL players might have to go on strike to, gasp, make more money.
I just don’t like that sports gets financial “help” from we the people’s tax money. They want a sports venue, then they have the money to build it themselves.
I feel sorry for the major league ball players – Zack Greinke is only making a mere $31,000,000 base 2017 salary and Clayton Kershaw $33,000,000 2017 base. Yeah, that may sound like a lot but the average MLB player salary is a paltry $4,470,000. How would you like to have to get by on less than five million a year? Scary thought, isn’t it?

But politics is still a noble endeavor undertaken for the good of the masses, right?

Sure…next thing you will be telling me is that members of Congress are more concerned about their corporate sponsors than their own constituents.

Nike could have had Steph Curry but at their first meeting they mispronounced his name AFTER he corrected them more than once.
