Gotta admit that while I like the artwork on this one, I want someone to slap that smug look right off Big Margie’s face and pronto.
Regarding the discussion yesterday about the lack of stakes in recent Dick Tracy villains, I know this was a little while ago and the storyline itself went very quickly, but I thought Sweatbox was a really violent and disturbing character. I mean, the guy had been murdering people for almost seven decades before he was discovered. That’s pretty nasty.
Off Topic: Shout out to award-winning scenic designer, Ray Toler, for his excellent work on Not About Nightingales, at Raven Theatre. The Warden’s office, cells and dreaded Klondike are expertly rendered. Even “lesser” Tennessee Williams has a lot to offer. Bravo!
When I first glanced at today’s panel 3, I thought that Big Margie had jammed that rebar into Tracy’s back! But then I saw that he was talking, so he must not be injured.
There it is! The lead-pipe (or steel reinforcing rod) that I feared would ambush the Chief of Detectives! I hope Sam is around to detect the creeping creep and stop her assault. There would be a certain delicious irony in Sam’s winging the anti-Semite….
And then Middle Margie can hobble down on her semi-shod shanks….

It would be fitting for Sam to take down Big Margie.

Watch out, Tracy! Hidden Big Margie has found a very dangerous-looking piece of rebar.

I hope there’s a Sam to get the drop on Big Margie as she is getting the drop on Tracy..

Waaaay off-topic …
Many of the new episodes of “TWIN PEAKS” feature vivid, dream-like orchestral performances beneath the end credits.
Here’s one such song, performed by Chromatics …

Hey, you don’t suppose Mike & Shelley are going to slip in a tribute to the Dick Tracy “Aurora Model Kit” from the 1960’s here, do you?

Did you guys see http://www.gocomics.com/working-daze/2017/05/28? Not the most promising crossover, for Rita anyway.

Careful Big Margie. This isn’t Spiderman you’re dealing with here.

Watch out Dick Tracy, she’s coming up behind you. Are you taking notice of your partner Sam? This is intense!

RIP fallen heroes. You gave you all for us.

The third panel can also be interpreted as Big Margie operating a small, crude “Dick Tracy” rod puppet, rigged with only a single rod.
She can’t even get his arms to move!

I like the cartoon twirl in panel one, that indicates the shoe flipping over once as it plummets toward Tracy.
Panel two, great looking down view. Do you think Mike can get his job back ?

Some nice point-of-view shots from up there and down looking up. Dynamic!

Tracy’s dialogue in panel 1 is wish fulfillment for millions of Englanders in the 1980s.
