Got any other plans to spend your summer while your buddies and sister are at camp, Michael?

I don’t blame Michael for trying to see the negative side of camp. After all, going to camp is supposed to be some kind of punishment for their fighting in public. Michael has been spanked before and he knows that punishments are supposed to be bad.

Lizzie on the other hand, has never been punished her entire life. Plus there is a strong possibility she may rightfully see herself as the victim of being punched and kicked by 2 older boys, so she could view the camp as a reward for that.

I think the one looking forward to camp the most is Elly. She’ll have a week or two without them where she only has one child to do everything for, John!

Talk about moody. Michael should spend some time outdoors. He needs an attitude adjustment.

It’ll be a good experience for them, and Elly’s kitchen will be done by the time they get back.

I guess Gordon isn’t going cause his Mom & Dad can’t afford to send him and buy booze at the same time.

I loved scout camp…..sold “Tom Watt” stuff all winter to get the money to go for a week.

When I was working as a Camp Counselor, one summer, I asked a kid if he was feeling homesick.

" Nah, " he replied. " I’m sick of home ! "

Hello Muddah, hello Faddah

Here I am at Camp Grenada

Camp is very entertaining

And they say we’ll have some fun if it stops raining

All the counsellors hate the waiters

And the lake has alligators

And the head coach wants no sissies

So he reads to us from something called Ulysses

Yeah – quit sun-shining on the determinedly miserable teenager!

I wonder how the kitchen remodel is going. I guess no news is good news.

Ah, off to camp. Can’t possibly get into any trouble there!!
